A FEW PREVIOUS COMMENTS FROM 2008 . . . .

Just a short note to say "THANK YOU" to all, for such a well organized and pleasurable event on Saturday with plenty of stewards and help and event great food and a wonderful goody bag..

My daughter Catherine Longe was successful in the Tristar 1 event. I myself suffered a very serious sub arachnoid haemorrhage where I had to learn to walk and talk again and this took several years for a part recovery. I never knew of the Brain and Spine foundation then but I am so happy to see such a charity.

Hope to see you next year.

With Thanks Suzanne Longe.

Hi John

I just wan
ted to write to say a big thank you for all your efforts in the Clacton Triathlon. I imagine you were very glad to have a lie-in today?! Ken and I were really impressed with how well organised the event was (especially with the weather working against you!) and the tremendous amount of support that you have rallied in the local community for the Brain and Spine Foundation.

Please extend our thanks to everybody who helped to make this such a successful event.

Sarah

Hi there

Just wanted to say Thanks for a great race- well organised, very cheerful volunteers considering the rain and great safety and emergency continency with the crashes, etc. I saw one marshall in 3 different places during the race and always smiling! Excellent efficient result service and prize giving really quick considering all the sorting you had to do with the one lap bikers, etc.

It was my first proper triathlon in 12 years in the UK and I really enjoyed it (and I wore the same wetsuit, bike and swim togs I wore 12 years ago too!) but the wetsuit was a bit tight!

All the best in the future,
Happy training,
Ali Hollington

Simon,

Firstly I would just like to congratulate you an incredibly well organised event. This was my first ever triathlon and I was really impressed with everything from the first contact with you to the goodbye at the car park gate by the attendant. Well done to all.

Secondly thanks to Phil Collins (74) who was my saviour on the day.

About three miles out on the first lap I got a puncture. I had not spare tube or tools. I threw down my bike, kicked it, swore and stormed off down a side road thinking it would lead to the seafront. After approx half a mile I came across someone who corrected this misconception and told me I had to return back to the main road and follow my tracks. Head down, cursing my own stupidity – Then number 74 appeared – gave me his spare tube and tools and effectively gave me the means to continue.

I saw him briefly after the race and he refused to take payment for the tube. The man is a saint ! Not only that but he also rescued the lady from the car and when he finished his event he was covered in her blood. Anyway I really would like to thank him again and try to get him to accept either cash for the tube or allow me to donate it to your cause. I know it’s not a lot but I was touched.

See you next year,

Chris Lenartowicz

Hi,

Many thanks to all your volunteers for being so chirpy and high-spirited, they were a big lift on the day.

Jonathan

Many thanks for a great weekend of triathlon.

Griffin Chapman and myself are very proud to sponsor and be associated with such a well known well established local event. I have witnessed over the past two years the time and effort put in by all the guys and girls which is very very appreciated. Shame more people dont stay for the prizes to acknowledge this fact. All the best for another 10 years. I personally look forward to the race each year as the number 1 race as do the majority of the competitors. Long may it continue. Maybe in 10 years time I will win a prize!!!

All the best to Simon and John Kedge and the other guy whose name escapes me at the moment.
Regards

Stuart
